The Volunteer Impact

While I’m familiar with the roles of volunteer leadership and the importance of passionate volunteers now, it wasn’t always the case.

Before I worked in the nonprofit space where we’re governed by volunteer boards, I was in politics where volunteers predominantly do the things that campaign staff don’t have time for.

Having the exposure to volunteer leadership over the last several years has driven home the absolute necessity of recruiting engaged and interested volunteers at every level, from the board of directors to one-off event assistants.

Expertise is great - but passion and interest sure give it a run for its money.
